Health informatics (also called health care informatics or health informatics, medical informatics, nursing informatics, clinical informatics or biomedical informatics) is health care informatics, a multidisciplinary field that uses health information technology (medical information technology) to improve health care by By any combination of the highest quality and highest efficiency (inducing cost reduction and greater availability), disciplines involved in information science include computer science, social sciences, behavioral sciences, management sciences, and other sciences. Membership is of three types:

  1. Active membership: It is stipulated that: The applicant for membership must have a scientific degree in the field of specialization of the association or its equivalent, and have scientific or tangible contributions in the field of interest of the association, and that he pays the annual subscription of 200 riyals.
  2. Honorary membership: granted by a decision of the general assembly to those who contributed to the development of the association’s areas of interest, or provided it with financial or moral services. The honorary member is exempted from the requirement to pay the annual subscription, and he may attend the sessions of the general assembly and its various committees and participate in the discussions.
  3. Affiliate membership: It is enjoyed by university students in the field of specialization of the association or workers and those interested in the field of the association who do not meet the qualification requirement specified for active membership, and the affiliated member is exempted from 50% of the subscription value (100 riyals annual subscription), and he may attend the sessions of the general assembly and its various committees and participate in discussions without having the right to vote.
    (The association fees are to be paid after the applicant receives confirmation that he fulfills the membership requirements)
  1. The association’s management determines the date of expiry of the board of directors according to the date of approving the current board of directors, and informs the current president of the association of the date.
  2. The president of the association instructs a director to the executive director to start the electoral process for the new board of directors of the association according to the rules regulating Saudi scientific societies.
  3. The Elections Follow-up Committee informs the association’s registered employees of the opening of candidacy and the date set for holding the elections.
  4. An announcement shall be made on the association’s website and the association’s social media sites of the opening of the nomination for membership of the new board of directors, and informing those wishing to run for candidacy to fill out the candidacy form posted on the website and send it within 10 days from the date of opening the candidacy door.
  5. The nomination applications for membership of the Board of Directors and their compliance with the conditions of membership of the Board of Directors are reviewed by the Elections Committee.
  6. The Elections Committee announces the names of the candidates with a summary of their CVs via the association’s website and the association’s social networking sites, and the advertisement link is sent to the members, provided that the advertisement continues on the websites for a period of 5 days before the voting process begins.
  7. The Election Management Committee announces the start date of voting for its registered working members by sending the voting link.
  8. The electronic voting process begins and continues for 5 days.
  9. After the voting process is closed, the Election Management Committee will sort and scrutinize the voting process, and then announce the final results of the candidates.
  1. Voting is opened 24 hours after the results of the Board membership are announced.
  2. Voting takes place among the members of the Board of Directors through the electronic system for a period of 48 hours.
  3. The results will be announced on the association’s website and the association’s social networking sites.

A non-Saudi residing in Saudi Arabia can join the association (working membership).

  1. A member of the association is not entitled to a refund of membership fees.
  2. In the event of more than one payment for the same period, a period equal to the fees paid will be added.

Academic accreditation for educational programs is a type of quality assurance process whereby educational program services are evaluated and verified by (the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment) to determine whether the applicable and recognized standards have been met. Academic accreditation for educational programs is granted to educational institutions, and the association is not one of them.
