Title: Makkah REgion E-Health Project

Abstract:The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has determined to develop its e-government and to be regional leader in this regards. The Makkah Region has consistently been a pioneer in Saudi Arabia in many fields but specially in the health care area. A clear example is the MRQP which was of such success that it was adopted by the MOH to be the national health care quality mandatory standard and renamed CBAHI. The Makkah Region is developing an electronic health program called MREEH which aims to have a unified medical record number for each patient and to link all the region's hospitals, both private & public, including polyclinics, and individual private clinics. Standardizing the HIS tables of all healthcare providers to enable medical record sharing in addition to enabling the MOH leaders to make informed and up-to-date strategic decisions, planning etc. by having access to real-time statiscs and data mining is the ultimate goal.
